 Prasher Lake is the unexplored beauty of the Himalayas. Only a few people know about this beautiful place. It is situated 49km from Mandi, which is one of the most beautiful places in Himachal Pradesh. It has 3 stories Pagodavery like structure and the temple is dedicated to Prasher Rishi. It is believed that the Parashar Rishi used to meditate here. Parashar Rishi is the son of Maharishi Shakti and the grandson of Maharishi Vashisht. The old pagoda-like temple is dedicated to him. It is located at a height of 2730m above sea level.

 Prashar Lake remains frozen in the winter. The view in the winters is mesmerizing. The Place is surrounded by the Dhauladhar ranges which are also look very beautiful.

 If you want to explore this amazing place more than you can go to one more trek which is start from Prasher Lake. This trek leads you to the Tunga Mata Temple. It is located above the Parashar lake. The route of this trek consists of a steep climb on the mountain ridge located behind the lake. The trek offers a great view of the Dhauladhar, Kinnaur mountain ranges and Pir Panjal.

  • Mandi To Prashar Lake Via Baggi Village –

The trek is started from the Baggi village. First, you have to reach the Baggi village to start the trek. To reach the Baggi village, you can take a bus or hire a taxi from Mandi Bus Stand. It will take you to 2 hours to the starting point of the trek. The trek is about 8 Km. There are shops in Baggi village. You can buy some food items and a water bottle there. But it is advisable that you get all the necessary stuff like food and all from the main market of the mandi. This is because the choices are very few in the shops of Baggi. 

  • Prashar Lake To Mandi Via Baggi –

The next day you will come from the Prasher to Mandi from the same route. If you want you can come back on the same day if you start your trek early in the morning. But you should stay at Prasher Lake at least for one day as it is a very beautiful and peaceful place. You will surely fall in love with this place.

There is a proper facility to stay in Prasher Lake. You can book the rest house and stay comfortably there. If you don’t want to stay in the guest house, there is also an availability of tents. You can even stay in tents and enjoy the night under the sky full of stars.

There are also a few shops where you get proper breakfast, lunch, and dinner. So you don’t need to have to worry about food.
