Stok Kangri (20,187 ft) is the highest mountain in the Stok Range of the Himalayas in the Ladakh region. The peak is located in Hemis National Park, 12 km southwest of the trailhead (11,844 ft). In the village of Stok and around 15 km southwest of the Ladakhi capital of Leh.
Stok Kangri trek is the best trek in Ladakh which takes you above 6000 m. Stok Kangri is the highest peak in Stok range visible from Leh and surrounding areas. Stok Kangri has over the recent years gained popularity among trekkers and mountaineers owing to the non-technical nature of its climb.
The climb is exhaustive and requires a good amount of stamina. From the summit, you will see the whole of Zanskar and the Indus Valley very clearly.
Important Guidelines – Please do not attempt this trek alone. You or someone in your group should have walking experience and the necessary navigational skills or hire a local guide.
